Bulletin for January 27, 2015

Last Week’s Program:

The Rotary meeting was held at St Mark's fellowship building located at 1105 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines.  Dr. Michael Foss was our host and current Club President.  Thanks so much for a nice venue.

Mike introduced Brennan Buckley, Sr., VP for Iowa Realty.  Brennan has an interesting program on real estate trends in the Des Moines market.  He also demonstrated how changes in technology have impacted the real estate buisiness.

Program for this week:

Emily Nie, Store Manager, Microsoft Kiosk, Jordan Creek Town Center

Polio Plus: Doug Hillman, our Treasurer, has Iowa Energy tickets for sale.  The tickets are donated by the Iowa Energy basketball team as a fundraiser for Polio Plus.  For each $16.00 ticket the Iowa Energy will donate $8.00 to Polio Plus.  If you would like to buy some tickets let Doug know and he will bill you on your January invoice.    Also, if you would like to donate the tickets to a youth group, or other entity, tell Doug and he will help coordinate this also.  The date for the game at Wells Fargo arena is 2/7/15.

Harold Hulleman reported that the Bicycle project has resumed with a work night  last thursday.

Pat Grote indicated that the Girl Scouts were selling cookies starting next month.  I think Pat can help you if you have an interest!

Bob Start indicated that there was a free concert at Java Joes on February 15th.

Three Minute Speaker/Sergeant at Arms:

Linda Leave was the  three minute speaker.   Linda has lived in 10 states and has degrees from Alleghany College and Ohio State University.  She has two adult sons - one in Chicago and one in Arkansas.  Linda is a CPA with LWBJ.  Her trivia questions had to do with the State of the Union Address.
