Bulletin for April 8, 2008

LAST WEEK:

Sam Bernabe, general manager of the Iowa Cubs was our speaker.  Sam is a WDM native, and graduate of Valley High School .  (Editor's Note - Somehow, Dr. Tom Narak and Norm Pogemiller avoided heavy fines from the Sgt. even though Sam's heritage was duly noted).

Sam talked about the bright prospects for the I Cubs this season, and provided general comments about baseball, and the business operations of AAA baseball in Des Moines (the smallest AAA city in the US .)

We are all looking forward to the season, if it would just stop snowing!

The District is scheduling a 4 person scramble at TCI as part of the District Conference.  You can still sign up through the District website.

Also, its not too early to begin planning for the Bunny Harper, the District 6000 annual golf tourney.  The event this year is at Lake Panorama National, hosted by the Jefferson Club, on June 9, 2008 .  Two formats available, a shambles (all players hit from the tee, select the best tee shot and each finishes the hole from there) and traditional medal play.  Our club is two time defending champions.  If questions, contact Greg Kenyon. To sign up, call or send an email to Greg Kenyon.  515-246-5829 or Kenyon.gregory@bradshawlaw.com.
